A native of Belfast, Tony McGaharan discovered his passion for learning and development on the basketball court as a teenager. It was there, through the lens of sport, that he experienced the transformative power of teamwork, leadership, and collective achievement—values that continue to underpin his work today.”
“Tony began his career as a qualified high school teacher in business studies before moving into the nonprofit world with PeacePlayers International. There, he leveraged sport to bridge divides in communities across Northern Ireland and other regions impacted by conflict. This early work laid the foundation for a career centered on connection, empathy, and impact.”
“After this, Tony went on to join Google, where he held several people and leadership development roles over the years. At Google, he combined his educational roots with his experience in community-building and sport, creating engaging, inclusive, and high-impact learning environments for leaders at every level.”

It was in 2020 that Tony founded People Playbook, a global learning and development consultancy dedicated to delivering purposeful, practical, and playful learning experiences. Under his leadership, People Playbook has worked with leaders and teams across industries and continents to cultivate more human-centered ways of working and leading.”
